Amarsul welcomed a group of staff from Barreiro Public Transport to the Palmela Ecopark, as part of an initiative designed to provide a real-world insight into the processes involved in the biological treatment of waste.

Participants were shown the biodegradable waste treatment process, as well as the technologies used to transform it into organic compost. Throughout the tour, topics such as the importance of correct waste separation at source and the contribution of biological treatment to reducing landfill waste were discussed.

The initiative forms part of Amarsul’s strategy to promote environmental literacy and bring different organisations closer to the operational reality of its infrastructure, reinforcing everyone’s role in building a more sustainable waste management system.
